(Since vaulters exists in Endless Space, I suppose the Vaulters end is the canon one) He helps the Vaulters in their quest to find their original ship, repair it and leave the dying planet. When Auriga begins to die, they get out of the Dungeon and face the other races in the surface of Auriga. The survivors stay for generations inside the Dungeon and name themselves the Vaulters. Among the survivors is Opbot, a medical bot. The survivors have to fight against several monsters in a dungeon (old lab left by the endless). One ship from mercenaries / prisioners from a non said faction crash into Auriga. Other minor races achieve space travel. The Endless mostly disappear from the galaxy, but leave behind planets, marvels and tons of dust. Endless conquer the galaxy and ♥♥♥♥ up big time among themselves with the dust wars. If you consider the link between all the games in the Endless Universe, the timeline is the following (mild spoilers ahead): I like to read those lore snippets quite a lot (including research nodes they have quite a lot of nice references in there, which is kinda cool).ĮS2 seems to be an alternative version of ES1 lore wise, but atm there's not rly a lot of lore in there as far as I can tell. I agree, that the devs stay pretty vague and that the pieces they provide don't fit together particulary well. Different snipets of lore indicate, that humans definitely had interstellar ships long before all of the endless games take place (the vaulters are descendents of those ships afterall and the other civilizations in ES1 point in that direction as well).īut since the human factions in ES 1 all start with a single planet and at the very bottom of the tech tree, a collapse of some sort and a split up into many different factions has taken place. As a conclusion, the human civilization has been around for a very, very long time prior to all the endless games.
They call themselves vaulters, because of what happened on Aurigae. The vaulters have their origin right there in endless legend. A barren wasteland like the late version of Auriga is no exception. You can colonize anything in endless space given the right tech. You can also find Auriga in ES 1 and 2 and it states that it's completely dead now, but was once a habitable place with lots of species. The vaulters' lore in endless space 1 clearly states that they escaped Auriga right before it collapsedand and formed a space fairing nation. Endless legend happens right before endless space 1.
